History, Medicine and Pumpkin
They are one of the earliest plants cultivated by humans - probably pumpkins were the diet of people living from 7,000 to 9,000 years ago. Even those very bitter varieties were eagerly eaten - both humans and other mammals living thousands of years ago did not disdain their excellent properties. The knowledge of this has survived for hundreds of years - even American scientists from the nineteenth century used pumpkin seeds as a means of getting rid of worms and parasites from the body.
Today, with the availability of modern instruments, we can clinically examine the intuition of our ancestors and confirm their assumptions - and so did scientists from China who have proven that the seeds, together with a certain variety of walnut, are effective in 90% of cases in the elimination of dangerous parasites.
